TRAIL RIDES at Benbrook Stables are the best way for a group to get together and have a great time relaxing on horseback. It is exciting and fun to explore the natural Texas landscape. Our trails will make you feel like you are out on the range, when really you are just a few minutes from downtown Fort Worth.
We are the trail head of over thirty miles of scenic trails around Benbrook Lake. Just out our back gate you will cross over a two lane black top and into a beautiful grove of gorgeous trees, lining the creek. You will guide your horse through the creek crossing and into another tree lined lane that takes you to open prairies, overlooking the lake. After riding through the canopy of trees you will ride up to a bluff where you can see all of downtown Fort Worth, Texas and Benbrook Lake. It is extremely picturesque, so you will want to be sure and get lots of photos while on the trail.
Summer Rides bring out the blooming cactus and native grasses. Spring time rides, the trails are filled with bluebonnets, indian paint brush, and so many Texas wildflowers that you can not name them all. If you time it just right, the butterflies may be migrating and you will get to ride through a gorgeous display of Monarchs on their way home before the cold sets in. The Winter brings out the wildlife, and chilly days where the horses are their happiest and ready for the longer two hour rides. No matter what time of year you decide to ride with us, it's always a great time to ride with us.
The Corps of Engineers maintains our horse only trails that cover over thirty miles and thousands of acres of Texas terrain. This means you will not be sharing the horse path's with bicycles or hikers. However, you will almost always encounter native wildlife on your ride. Deer, fox, coyotes, rabbits etc.. are all a part of the Texas landscape and just an extra added bonus to our trail rides. Benbrook Lake is located in the scenic open countryside of rolling hills and prairie meadows just twenty minutes southwest of Downtown Fort Worth. The lake is only 2.5 miles (4 km) south of Interstate Highway 20 on US Highway 377 ( Benbrook Blvd.) and is a popular location for outdoor recreation. The landscape surrounding the lake varies from wooded bottoms to upland prairie, with open shorelines and rocky hillsides. We can cover all of it on horseback
OUR HORSES
Our amazing horses are the best string of lesson and trail horses in Texas. Our horses are safe and gentle enough for first-time riders and very enjoyable for our experienced riders too! They are quiet, calm, gentle and patient and make a beginner rider feel like a pro. If you have never been on a horse or have ridden all your life, we have the perfect horse for you. We offer hourly guided trail rides or arena rides, and can accommodate groups of any size. Bring your best friend, spouse, kids, grandkids, Mom, Dad, your whole family, friend group or the entire staff from work. It's great fun for all ages.

Trails are open 7-days a week from 9 to 4
Reservations are required - All Trails are Guided
$70 per hr/ per rider
All Trail Rides are Cash Only!
We do not accept checks, debit or credit cards for the trail rides.
All Trail Rides are walk only, there is NO running.
Riders must be at least 8 years old to enjoy the trails
No Double Riding - No Running
Very Strict 225 lb. weight limit
FOR OUR YOUNGER RIDERS
Riders must be 8 years of age to ride the trails
Riders under 8 years of age can ride on the property with a Lead Line
$70 per hour or $40 1/2 hour arena ride /lead line
$25 assistants are available for arena rides/lead lines upon request.
Gratuity is always appreciated by your guide, but completely up to you!
Please call about our weight limit, if anyone in your party is over 225lbs.
Check-in time is 15 minutes before your ride time. If you arrive late from your check-in time, you will miss your trail ride and be charged a $75 inconvenience fee.
We also offer offsite horse rentals for $275 for the first hour plus the mileage to travel.
Unfortunately, No Refunds will be made once the reservation is paid.
*All groups of 5+ people will be asked to keep a credit card on file in case of a no-show,no-call. If that is the case, you will be charged a $75 inconvenience fee.
