Benbrook Stables is the #1 Equestrian Camp in the State of Texas. We pride ourselves on our safety record and exceptionally well trained staff. We are looking to hire a new crew this 2024 season that can rise to the occasion and make this years camp the best ever.
As a Camp Counselor, you will be an active participant in all camp activities and will assist your Camp Director with a variety of daily tasks, all with the goal of creating a memorable and meaningful camp experience for your campers. Our Counselors interact with our campers throughout the entire day, helping them make friends, try new things, and generally caring for their well-being. The role of a Counselor is to participate, build relationships and have fun while ensuring the physical and emotional safety of every child.
Camp Counselor Qualities and Qualifications
Ability to help campers have fun while learning new skills
Ability to guard the health and well-being of campers at all times around horses and while doing other activities
Capable of sustaining energy for participation in a full day's worth of activities
Prior experience working with children
Enthusiastic, Responsible, Dependable, Consistent, Level-Headed, Flexible, and Calm in all situations
Entering first year of college, or equivalent
CPR/First Aid Certified OR willing to become certified before the Spring Break Session or Summer begins
Must pass a background check and drug test.
Camp Counselor Responsibilities
Work with group of campers and provide a fun, safe and exciting camp experience
Cooperate with fellow Counselors and Camp Director
Greet families and campers upon arrival
Support Camp Director in establishing rules and emergency procedures with campers
Participate in all camp activities
Help out where needed and lead activities when asked to by the Camp Director
$12/$15 per hour based on experience
2024 Spring Break Camp is March 11-15
Qualifications for volunteers are to assist the counselors with any activity the campers may be doing or assisting the campers get to all areas of camp safely. You will help out where needed with things like waters, snacks, setting up games and equipment, washing horses, saddling etc... Our Volunteers are the ones that help our camp run effortlessly by taking over some of the extra work for the counselors.
